The Creative Britain Report is out next week - what will this mean for Moseley?
Maybe the developments at the Exchange based on The Islington Hub and influenced by Helsinki will provide the key to connectivity.
Connectivity for us means two things - bandwidth and people.
Moseley is at the hub of several creative communities and it is this connectivity which is its key strength.

Testing wifi
A group of us are trying out the wifi at Moseley Exchange. So far so good. It gives a good idea of how it will feel to work here - people working next to each other quietly or chatting and helping each other out.

Moseley Exchange
I’ve been trying to work out the a new agreement document for people using the Exchange. I’ve worked out some guidance to help us all share this new space. Have a look, let me have some comments please.
DRAFT DOCUMENT
Moseley Exchange Agreement - our relationship with Members
Welcome to the Moseley Exchange, here’s some useful information to help you get the most of our co-working space.
Background information
Moseley Community Development Trust is a registered charity (no.1087949) that exists to lead the regeneration of Moseley. We’re responsible for the Moseley Exchange. You can find out more about us at www.MoseleyCDT.com.
Moseley has a long tradition of supporting Artists, free-thinkers and entrepreneurs. The Moseley Exchange is new a venture to help creative people and others wanted to set new projects in motion. Our aim is to support the growth of new enterprising community that will eventually bring social benefits to the neighbourhood.
The Moseley Exchange co-working space
Co-working is a global movement and is the creation of a shared space for people who work in a flexible way.
Our approach to Co-working
Community- Our aim is to grow a “community” of workers that use the Exchange. We want members to feel that they’re part of community and to benefit from mutual support.
Collaborate- It’s only through collaboration will you realise the benefits of co-working and it’s crucial if we’re going to generate new ideas. So, it’s important that we’re honest with each other and be willing to share our knowledge and experience.
Think Green- By working in shared space you’re already helping the planet. In addition, we want to reduce our environmental impact. So help us by being considerate about printing, recycling and energy use.
Inclusive- It’s important to us that we include a diverse group of people from our neighbourhood. So, we have a range of membership rates and have tried to make sure the space has been designed for a variety of users.
Respect- This is something we all desire. So let’s ensure we do respect other members, the staff and volunteers who help run it and the physical space itself.

Music

Last Saturday was a great success! Project X worked wonders with our Exchange space.
If you managed to come along for the exhibition during the day or the music by the Ralph Allin Quartet in the evening we hope you agree it was well worth all the hard work.
